I am happy to announce we are expecting! A NEW CHURCH THAT IS. January 15th is our expected launch weekend for Unite Church in Pasadena, CA and, Wow! God is so good and his Church is a beautiful thing. Over the past months I have had numerous conversations with so many people from so many different backgrounds about the new work the Lord is moving us into. It is so beautiful to see how God weaves us all together in one large community, trains us each up, and sends us to our work whether that is in business, homemaking, or vocational ministry. I am humbled by the training and support we have received up to this point to bring us to where we are, and I am hopeful —as daunting as the road may look ahead— that the Lord has started this work and He will be faithful to complete it. I wanted to take a quick moment to share where we are and where we are going.
This past week was my last all-staff meeting at my current church, and while I still have a few more Sunday’s with them, it is all a bit surreal. This is the church where both I truly met Jesus, where I heard my call into ministry, where I met my wife, where we met two of our four children, and where we served for over a total of ten years. I have so many relationships that have formed from attending and working at this church, and now we are receiving the blessing to launch Unite Church in Pasadena. We are so thankful for what God has done in and through our family during our time at Christ’s Church of the Valley. I am grateful to so many people for their support, and encouragement over the years, and all of that makes me SO much more grateful and excited for what God is doing now.
At this moment in time our core group is meeting weekly and growing together as we shape the DNA and culture of Unite. We are prayerfully seeking wisdom and guidance in this process and for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
We are also in the process of finding a location to meet in Pasadena. We have had some promising discussions, but nothing is solidified yet. We are praying that the Lord reveals where we are supposed to gather and blesses us with the provisions to obtain that facility.
Unite held it’s first board meeting Thursday May 26th and it was so encouraging to see the great leaders that are walking along side of us as we venture into the unknown.
My wife and I are also beginning to look for houses in Pasadena, and while we do, we are praying for our future neighbors and for wisdom and provision in the process. As is common, there are so many variables in relocating a family, so we are moving forward one step at a time with faith in God’s plan and his timing even if it is not ours.
In all of this I am reminded of how incredibly BIG God is and how “easy” things are for him even when they seem impossible to man. I am reminded, “Man plans his course, but the Lords directs his paths.” I am hope-filled and excited to see where this path takes us. And we would like to invite you into this journey as we take the next steps. If you are interested in supporting us in this season and this transition, there are three ways: prayer, provision, and people.
Prayer: Our team needs as much prayer as possible. Please commit to praying for three things with us: God’s favor, provision, and wisdom.
Provision: Over the next three years, we need to raise 1.5 Million Dollars. Whether you would like to donate one lump sum, annually, purchasing items on a church registry, or monthly contributions, we are committed to wisely stewarding your contribution to impact eternity.
